There are several ESL hotel listening tasks on this page that will help you prepare for when you need to go to a hotel and speak and listen to what the staff might say to you. By practicing listening to the hotel words now you will be prepared for when you need to listen to them in a real conversation.
There are a range of ESL hotel listening tasks for you to do on this page where you need to listen to recordings of a native English speaker and then do some activates afterwards. You can listen to the recordings a few times to do each task, and you can listen after you have finished to help you get used to understanding a native accent. If you need any help with how the hotel words should sound when being spoken you can go to the ESL hotel vocabulary page that has a recording of the vocabulary list being spoken by a native English speaker.
There are the following four exercises for you to do on this page:
For this ESL hotel listening task you need to listen to the following recording and then decide which option (A-D) in each question has the words in the same order as when they are spoken. When you have finished you can use the get score button to see how many you got correct.
In the next ESL hotel listening activity you need to decide which option (A-D) in each question has the word that goes with the spoken definition in the recording. To see the correct answers you should use the get score button.
Now for this ESL hotel listening exercise you need to listen to and understand the following spoken passage and then answer the questions about it. Again you can use the get score button to see how you did.
At the end of the page there is a link that you can click to see the full text so you can check your understanding.
In the final ESL hotel listening activity you need to listen to the recording of a passage being spoken and then write it down exactly as it is said. The passage is said twice in the recording: the first time at a slow speaking rate and then in the second with pauses after every few words and the punctuation included.
There is another link at the end of the page that you can use to see the full text of the passage so you can check your answer and see how much you got correct.
